An outside wood boiler in Alberta requires a firebox to be 70% larger due to the absence of hardwoods in Alberta

It takes 70% more softwood to get the same BTU output as a hardwood, like Oak.

I suggest that the front be a darker color - preferably black  or charcoal gray
Why? The front has the firebox door and smoke stains above the door WILL make it uglier over time.

The sides, corners, roof and roof trim can be different colors - or all the same. Most people do the corners and roof trim the same color. It ties it all together nicely.
